Michael J. O'Rourke, Sr., 52, of Parkside Dr, Warwick; Narragansett and Naples, FL, a contractor and owner/operator of O'Rourke's Bar & Grill, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012, at the Kent Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Laurie (Blomberg) O'Rourke for 28 years and a son of Winnie A. (Cunningham) O'Rourke and the late C. Justin O'Rourke, Sr.
Michael was the loving father of
- Michael J. O'Rourke, Jr.,
- Christopher K. O'Rourke and
- Kara A. O'Rourke.
He was the brother of John F. O'Rourke and his wife Donna, and C. Justin O'Rourke, Jr. and his wife JoAnne; uncle of Darcy A., Devin J.F., Kailey W. and Lucas I. O'Rourke; cousin of William Leonard and Patricia Charland.
He is also survived by several cousins.
Michael was a member of
- AOH Division #1 Warwick and AOH State Chapter [and served as President of both],
- the Emerald Society,
- the Irish Famine Memorial committee, and
- the Ceilidhe Club.
Visiting hours were held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, January 25, 2012, at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, in Warwick. His funeral was held Wednesday at 9 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Peter Church, Fair Street. His burial was in Pawtuxet Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Bishop Hendricken High School, The Prout School, or St. Peter School will be appreciated.
